    'Virtual' Book Fair - 4 March to 10 March 2021 - Letter

As part of the World Book Day celebrations, we are giving the children the opportunity to access a book fair.
Due to ongoing restrictions, the usual boxes of books will not be delivered to the school, however I am pleased that we are able to run a ‘virtual’ book fair instead. See attached letter for information.
The book fair will start on Thursday 4 March with all orders to be submitted by Wednesday 10 March 2021. The school will then arrange for the book orders to be delivered to the school and orders will be sent home with your child. We encourage you to spend some time looking at the books with your child and then you can use your “World Book Day online token – value £1.00” to contribute to the cost (just tick the option on the order form and deduct £1.00 from total). The book fair will give your child the choice of a range of new titles to read at home and the orders will also support the school in buying additional books to support our curriculum.

    Google Meet/Zoom Online Meeting Permissions

As part of our remote learning, teachers may wish to bring together some of the children in an online meeting or lesson. This would be via Google Meet (included in Google Classroom) or Zoom or some similar platform. These would involve two members of staff and a group of children.

Staff would not normally communicate with children online when school is open, but we believe that, during lockdown, where children may feel isolated from their classmates, it will benefit both their wellbeing and their learning.

We want to be sure that the children are safeguarded in such a meeting and have put the following protocol in place. If you would like your child to take part in live online meetings or lessons, then please complete the form below (or reply to the email that you were sent, stating your child’s name to say that you give your consent for your child to take part in these events).

We will only involve your child with your consent. If you wish your child to take part in in live online meetings or lessons, please complete the online consent form in the attached letter by 1pm on Thursday 7 January.
